How to live a toxin-free life

If you haven’t noticed, is all around in our living environment today. I was watching news another day and there was a report on the releasing an chemical called, “, or BPA.” It is a very common used chemical in polycarbonate plastic. After watching the news, I decided to do a little research on internet myself. What I found was SCHOCKING!

Besides the plastic baby bottles and other plastic made containers, do you know products such as lotions and fragrances are also made with toxins? Toxins that can enter the bloodstream and disrupt enzymes? Common household cleaning products for sanitize that can also cause serious damage to your health?

Most of those products, the government doesn’t even monitor or test them before they go on sale on the market.

Researches shown that when BPA will release when the plastic bottle is heated. This is extreme dangerous for baby because as the drink the warm milk or infant formula, they are most likely to get toxins into their vulnerable bodies.

When you are choosing the product, read the label carefully. Choose “All Natural” if possible. If not, make sure you don’t choose the ones that have long ingredient names that you don’t know.

How can we minimize the toxins exposures in our home?

We can make changes to our home starting now!

1. Take off your shoes at home. Don’t bring the dirt, pesticides and other contaminants into your house.
2. Open the windows in your home. Getting fresh air into the house and make the circulation better. “A government environmental agency estimates that inside air is 7 to 100 times more polluted than outside air”
3. Use alternative products such as vinegar to kill bacteria and baking soda to replace Bleach, ammonia and aerosols.
4. Don’t use air fresheners or odor neutralizers because they don’t improve air quality. They add toxins to the air and cause breathing problems or headache.
5. Look for USDA certified organic food and products. Try to use natural and non-toxic vegetable based cleaning products.
6. Stop using those microwavable plastic containers. Try to use glass containers as a safer alternative.

  1. Those are some great tips. Just to add, don’t ever microwave contgainers made with BPA. As mentioned, opt for glass containers instead.

  2. Hi Mercola,

Thanks for the information about microwave containers. I don’t trust those plastic ones either. I always use glass containers when microwave. I think we really should watch out for those dangerous plastic made items.
